From Passion to Purpose: Founder Story

At the heart of D-Tech is Camaria Wafer, a visionary Detroit-based doula, advocate, and entrepreneur committed to reimagining maternal health. Her journey began with Shai Doula Services, where she provided inclusive and holistic support, ranging from fertility guidance to postpartum care, always centered on elegance, culture, and healing for families.

Driven by the challenges she saw doulas face, Camaria founded Doula Technology Solutions, blending innovation with compassion. By creating tools and spaces that lighten the administrative load, she allows doulas to focus on what matters most: caring for families.

Her leadership has been recognized through awards such as Detroit SOUP and Black Tech Saturday. Still, her most outstanding achievement lies in building a movement where doulas thrive and every family feels supported, respected, and empowered.
